RenaultMeganeWebsite

After the success of the Renault Laguna website, Renault have made use of many of the same features in the new Renault Megane website.  You can see the site here: http://www.nouvelle-megane.com/

As mentioned in one of my previous posts, the automotive industry has started to take advantage of Silverlight.  The most recent release is the Perfect Car Finder - Photo Edition from Kelley Blue Book.  This has been written in Silverlight 1 and utilises DeepZoom technology.

Renault have also taken advantage of DeepZoom with their new Laguna Coupe mini site.  This site was written using Silverlight 2 and demonstrates the high quality video Silverlight can offer.

BMW Germany was one of the first manufacturers that I know of to use Silverlight on a public facing website.  http://www.silverlight.bmw-tv.de.axprod.net/frontend/app/Default.html

Aston Martin showed off their use of Silverlight and WPF at Mix 08 earlier this year.  Check out the video below.

Let me know if you are aware of any more.

Comparis Silverlight Challenge

6 Jul 2008 In: Automotive, Silverlight

In April, Microsoft Switzerland created a Silverlight 2 Beta 1 hands-on lab, the lab was created to support the Comparis Silverlight Challenge.  The challenge came to an end on 22nd June 2008.  The winner was Styv Mermod from Yverdon-les-Bains and here are some screen shots of the entry.

I recommend, if you haven't already check out the lab. This application demonstrates that Silverlight does have a role to play in Automotive web space.
